The Greens welcome the news that our paramedics will now be paid appropriately for the critical role they play. This pay rise is in line with what staff have been asking for since 2014.

It's good news Health Minister Michael Ferguson has finally heard the desperation of Ambulance Tasmania's paramedics. It's a shame staff needed to write slogans on ambulances to prompt him to do the right thing.

This is a win for paramedics, who have been waiting more than eighteen months for a new wages agreement.

Although negotiations were originally finalised in February, the State Liberals refused to finalise the agreement.

It was Minister Ferguson's antagonism that left paramedics in limbo for four months, and sparked low-level industrial action.

We are very pleased ambulance officers can get on with caring for sick and injured Tasmanians. It's about time they are fairly compensated for their effort and expertise.
