The anti-protest Bill which passed through the Legislative Council this afternoon is an unworkable mess presided over by an incompetent Forests Minister.

"There was never any way to fix this Bill, but it's in more of a mess now that the Legislative Council has finished with it," said Greens Justice spokesperson Nick McKim MP.

"We are pleased that the mandatory sentencing provisions are gone, but the Bill remains deliberate in its intent to stifle dissent which is extremely unhealthy in a democracy."

"The Bill should be thrown out, but the Greens will be seeking further advice on a High Court challenge should it pass through the House of Assembly," Mr McKim said.
