Concerns raised by the AMA’s Dr Tim Greenaway about key health leadership positions need to be addressed by Minister Ferguson as soon as possible.

It is crucial that proper process is followed, but Tasmania's health sector needs certainty about who is at the helm.

We have seen elective surgery waiting lists skyrocket, an emergency department in crisis at the Launceston General Hospital and now we're hearing directly from health workers that they need strong, stable leadership.

It is time for the Minister to give the staff in our hospitals and health sector the certainty they need by making the appropriate appointments.

The THS has been in place for two months without a CEO, a position that clearly needs to be filled with some urgency.
