The Government’s Liminal Architecture report on the visual impact of the proposed Macquarie Point stadium was missing a critical image – the view from across Constitution Dock and Salamanca towards the sacred ground of the Cenotaph.

Architectural images produced by the community group, Our Place, seem to confirm the Constitution Dock view was missing from the consultant’s report because the stadium would tower over Hobart’s beautiful Hunter Street.

Tasmanians knew a 23,000 seat unneeded, unwanted billion dollar stadium was going to dwarf Hobart’s waterfront, but the pictures are still shocking.

Jeremy Rockliff’s stadium would be close to twice height of the IXL building and Hunter Street art school. It’s a monstrous eyesore looming over the docks.

Overwhelmingly, Tasmanians don’t want the Rockliff Liberals’ stadium. They want a secure and affordable place to call home, accessible healthcare and quality education for their children - and for Hobart’s iconic waterfront to stay, unobstructed by a massive billion dollar mistake.

The wildly unpopular billion dollar monolith Jeremy Rockliff has attached himself to has reduced his government to minority, and is apparently still dividing his Party Room. What will it take for him to get the message?
