Times are hard for so many sectors of the economy, but Tasmanian whiskey distillers have cause to celebrate this World Whiskey Day.
This island’s high quality distilleries have bloomed in popularity on the world stage in recent years, with whiskey distillers like Sullivan's Cove frequently snatching prestigious national and global awards.
Australian distillers, including Tasmania’s own Lark Distillery, have been giving back to the community during these challenging times by producing hand sanitiser when there’s been global shortfalls.
The Greens warmly congratulate Tasmanian distillers on all they have achieved, producing high quality, world renowned spirits. We also thank them for their contribution to the Tasmanian economy, and in the state’s hardest times, our community.
We encourage Tasmanians who are partial to nip of whiskey to help celebrate and support our local producers. Next time you’re filling the drinks cabinet, buy a truly world class local product.
