Cassy O'Connor MP | Greens Leader
Tasmania has reached a milestone with zero active coronavirus cases after a three month battle that claimed lives, closed businesses and caused thousands of job losses.
It has been a hard journey.
On behalf of all Greens, I’d like to thank the Premier for his leadership during this crisis, Health Minister, Sarah Courtney, the team led by Dr Mark Veitch, our dedicated health workers and Tasmania Police.
I would particularly like to thank every Tasmanian who has made sacrifices to get us to where we are today.
As an island community, we followed the rules and saved lives.
Obviously, with community transmission still occurring on the mainland and widespread outbreaks overseas, we need to remain vigilant.
It’s a long road ahead but we’ve made a positive start.
