We’re almost two weeks into this premature election campaign and still a stunning silence from Peter Gutwein about the casino pokies tax rate he’s negotiated in secret with the Federal Group.

What is the deal that’s been done with Federal Hotels? How much will Tasmanians pay to subsidise this stitch up with the Sydney-based Farrell family?

What services will be cut as a result of the deal? Will it be housing support, health care or will public schools cop the brunt?

In truth, with the deal likely to cost the State hundreds of millions of dollars over the life of the deal, all essential services will miss out.

This is the price Peter Gutwein has been prepared to pay, but not telling the people who’ll ultimately pay it.

Peter Gutwein cannot pretend this was last election’s issue when Tasmanians are being kept in the dark over this critical question concerning the State’s future.
