Ten days into the State election campaign and the secrecy from Labor and the Liberals continue.

Peter Gutwein still hasn’t told Tasmanians what deal his government stitched up with Federal Hotels on the casino pokies tax rate. This dodgy deal could cost State coffers, and the people of Tasmania, hundreds of millions of dollars over the next two decades. This is no small thing.

Rebecca White signed a secret deal with the THA, and won’t tell voters what her price was. How much have Tasmanian Labor taken from pokies barons since 2018?

Despite both parties promising to disclose donations over $5000 in real time, nothing is listed online. It beggars belief that no cheques have been cashed by Labor and the Liberals in the last ten days.

Tasmanians have the right to the full picture when they go to the polls.

Peter Gutwein needs to tell the truth about the casino tax rate. Tasmanians will ultimately pay the price for this deal, in both human and financial terms.

If the Liberals win this election and Tasmanians are still in the dark, Peter Gutwein won’t have a mandate for amendments to the Gaming Control Act 1993, that deliver a windfall gain to the pokies barons, when Parliament returns.
