TasRacing has released the names of 16 greyhounds reported deceased for the first six months of this year. The Greens tabled the list in Parliament today, so public can be made aware of the life these dogs lead.*

This is an illustration of what the greyhound industry is in Tasmania.

Among the dogs killed or recorded dead are dogs like Wee Fire, who earned $34,650 for her owner and trainer in her 3 years and 10 months of life. Yet there's still no record of how she died.

Night Tremors who started at 62 races and earned $23,190 in his lifetime. He was killed at 3 and a half years, but without any explanation why.

This is a shameful list of dogs who all died before the age of 4 years. Their deaths were in the name of entertainment and an excuse to gamble.

This is yet another illustration that greyhound racing no longer has the support of the wider community. It's an industry that has lost its social licence.
