Today’s snapshot from The Tasmanian Disability Education Reform Lobby continues to paint a picture of chronically underfunded class rooms.
A huge 93% of teachers who responded to the survey had no extra resources available to support students with additional needs.
Education Minister, Jeremy Rockliff, has time and time again promised to address the significant issues of equity in education. It’s not good enough to embark upon a education reform process whilst not taking care of students already enrolled.
Mr Rockliff is responsible for these students, and despite his promises nothing is improving.
The situation for students with additional needs is actually deteriorating. For those students, their parents and carers, as well as the teachers tasked with their education, learning conditions are just get worse.
Every child has the right to an education, and it’s the Liberals’ responsibility to provide it.
