If Forestry Tasmania ever wants to obtain Forest Stewardship Certification it will have to make significant changes to its practises and immediately cease operations in Lapoinya, as well as plans for the Mutual Valley.
Major non-conformances relating to rare, threatened and endangered species and other high conservation species identified in the report, can all be linked to practises in Lapoinya and Mutual Valley.
Immediately stopping forestry operations in Lapoinya and Mutual Valley would send a clear message to the FSC auditors that the Forestry Tasmania takes the audit seriously.
A halt to forestry operations in Lapoinya and Mutual Valley needs to happen immediately.
