If Ms Smith's resignation is not due to being gagged, we can only assume she is the first to flee the sinking ship that is Mr Harriss' ministerial career.

Ms Smith's comments supporting Forestry Tasmania's closure are now being heard clearer than ever.

Minister Harriss is struggling to keep his head above water in his portfolio. He has a mendicant GBE with a $41M debt capacity, no money to pay its unfunded superannuation liabilities, no chance of FSC certification and he has no idea how to get out of his own mess.

Subsidies for Forestry Tasmania and native forest logging are bleeding the Tasmanian taxpayer dry, all in the vain attempt at saving Paul Harriss' credibility as a Minister.

In a desperate attempt to secure his footing, we saw Minister Harriss even claiming the Greens supported logging in the World Heritage Area - it more and more laughable by the day.
