Launceston’s aging infrastructure has been abandoned by another Treasurer. Bass' own Treasurer, Peter Gutwein, has ignored Launceston in the State Budget.

A further $650M is being spent on roads and replacing the Spirits of Tasmania, but there's no money in the Budget for Launceston’s aging sewerage infrastructure.

If Treasurer Gutwein had taken a walk around Bass in January, he would've seen and smelled the sewage on the streets. It's a serious public health issue that needs fixing now.

The flash flooding last Summer is a sign of things to come in the changing climate, as our rainfall patterns change.

Sewage bubbling up through sinks and flooding homes, along with unmanageable overland flows are what we're being faced with. Our failing infrastructure and treatment plants need to be addressed by government now.

The increasing the spend on the UTAS move has to be queried when Launceston’s infrastructure can’t manage the current community need.

The priorities in the State Budget show that the Treasurer has forgotten his home seat of Bass, and failed to fix one of our most critical issues.
