If Tasmanians needed any more proof that the draconian anti-protest laws are unworkable, ridiculous law, they have it today with charges against every Lapoinya arrestee dropped.

First it was Bob Brown, whose charge was dropped after he initiated a High Court challenge, then after Jessica Hoyt said she would be joining the challenge the charge against her was discontinued.

Now we hear all charges under the Liberals' unworkable anti-protest laws will be dropped. It's becoming absolutely farcical.

To drop one charge under this lousy law could be seen as careless, to drop a second seems clumsy. To drop all five is an outright admission this law is a dud.

The Liberals ran scared from the High Court challenge to their undemocratic anti-protect law.

Regrettably, this unworkable law politicises Tasmania Police. We would be very surprised if it was ever used again.

Parliament should scrub it from the statute books immediately.
