It is a great privilege and responsibility to be appointed as a Minister of the Crown and the conduct of Ministers must reflect that a higher standard of behaviour is expected of them.

Regrettably, the Minister for Police, Transport and Infrastructure seems to have forgotten this. His conduct towards Ms Forrest reflects poorly on him and the Liberals in government.

He is clearly a breach of the Ministerial Code of Conduct and there are legitimate questions about a breach of the Criminal Code Act 1925.

Premier Hodgman has bred an arrogant culture within in his government, with little regard for democratic process, high standards of conduct and respect for the institution of Parliament.

Under his leadership, Ministers have repeatedly misled Parliament and now we have an accusation of intimidation and bullying.

There is an old saying, a fish rots from the head.

The Greens will be seeking independent legal advice on the implications of Minister Hidding's conduct.
