Nearly two weeks have passed since Ministers Archer and Ferguson groaned at the words of a victim survivor of child sexual abuse read out in the House.

Both Ministers, who are senior members of Cabinet, have remained silent since that day – while Minister Jaensch has since sincerely apologised to the victim survivor for his part in that terrible moment.

The impact of their refusal to apologise to the victim survivor for the hurt they caused cannot be understood by anyone in the Parliament.

Once again, the Liberals used their numbers to defeat our Motion calling on Ms Archer and Mr Ferguson to just do the right thing and apologise.

In fact, neither Minister Archer nor Minister Ferguson had the courage to even turn up for the debate this afternoon.

While the Premier and Minister Jaensch have apologised, they and all their Party Room colleagues backed in the silence of Ms Archer and Mr Ferguson, voting against an apology three times today, and five times in two days.

Minister Archer and Minster Ferguson’s silence speaks volumes.
