The Liberals' petition "to councils" on the State's water and sewerage infrastructure, launched yesterday, is a sham.

The Liberal Party's petition is nothing more than a political stunt, which won't do a thing resolve Tasmania's decades-long water issues.  TasWater have begun addressing the State's boil water alerts, the only parties yet do a thing are the State and Federal Liberal Governments.

The Liberals are in power at a State and Federal level.  They have the power, and resources, to fix Tasmania's ailing water and sewerage infrastructure.

Peter Gutwein's staged fight with councils shows his poor leadership, and it trivialises the community's serious public health concerns.

The Liberals' pretence at redressing the State's water and sewerage issues treat Tasmanians with contempt.

The State Liberals should be sitting down with their Canberra colleagues to commit to joint water and sewerage infrastructure funding.

Peter Gutwein and the Liberal Party are treating the public like fools.  He's the Minister, the Liberals are in government, and it's up to them to find a fix for the problem.
