Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman has claimed today in Budget Estimates that logging and mining can be conducted in wilderness areas without compromising wilderness values in any way.

When repeatedly challenged to explain how he believed this could occur, Mr Hodgman was unable to give any details.

We look forward to the revelation of Mr Hodgman's secret new logging and mining techniques, to date unknown to humankind, which will require no roads, make no noise, and cause no disturbance at all to wilderness values.
