The massive privacy incursion in to the lives of every Tasmanian who’s called an ambulance since last November is inexcusable.

This data breach has apparently continued for two months, and the private information remains public at this moment.

How was this allowed to happen?

Why wasn’t the problem immediately detected?

How much does this epic failure to protect the privacy of Tasmanians have to do with under resourcing of Ambulance Tasmania?

And, how will the Gutwein Government make amends to those Ambulance Tasmania patients it has failed?

An urgent, rigorous investigation and absolute transparency from government is required. We need to get to the bottom of not just how this breach occurred, but also how it remained undetected for so long.
