The RSL’s letter to Premier Rockliff imploring him to protect the Cenotaph is powerful reading. RSL Tasmania unequivocally reject a stadium at Macquarie Point.

The Cenotaph and its obelisk are a place of solemn grief and deep reflection, sacred to Tasmania’s veterans. It is a place where colleagues and families commemorate loved ones lost, and contemplate lives changed forever.

Lest We Forget. It seems the Premier has.

How can the Rockliff Government proceed with their Macquarie Point stadium now? How many communities will the Premier ignore as he loyally does the AFL’s bidding?

Jeremy Rockliff claimed no one held veterans in higher regard than the Liberals. So high is their regard, they are ignoring their condemnation completely and bulldozing ahead with their divisive stadium.

If they truly respected our veterans, the Liberals would listen to them and walk away from their mega-stadium plans.
