The Turnbull Government's threat to the Safe Schools program continues.

The Safe Schools Program is more than an anti-bullying measure, it’s a resource for teachers to help educate and avoid the conditions which foster bullying in the first place.

For the Federal Government to require a watered down version of the teacher resource to be developed and for primary schools to be excluded before funding is handed over, plays straight into the hands of the conservative element within the Federal Liberal Party who have deeply ingrained problems with same sex attraction and transgender people.

The Federal Liberal backbench are threatening the safety of our LGBTI students with their continued attack.

The Minister for Education in Tasmania Jeremy Rockliff must make a strong statement in support of the program and commit to topping up any cuts made by the Federal Government.

The Victorian Education Minister has made this funding commitment and so should Minister Rockliff because it would allow Working It Out to deliver the Safe Schools Program in its entirety.
