Former Greens Minister for Education Nick McKim has congratulated the Tasmanian schools who achieved above average NAPLAN results last year compared to similar schools around Australia, but warned that future achievement is being put at risk due to the Liberal's cuts to public schools.
"These schools' results are thanks to fantastic efforts by their school staff, departmental support staff, and their broader school communities."
"Unfortunately the Liberals' unprecedented attack on public school funding means that literacy and numeracy programs are being cut, and similar results in the future are now at risk," Mr McKim said.
