Rosalie Woodruff MP | Greens Planning spokesperson
It's disappointing that both the Liberals and Labor voted against the Greens' move to defer the statewide planning scheme bill until the government released the scheme in full.
The Greens motion would've meant MPs would have seen the statewide planning scheme before passing the legislation.
As it stands, parliament is being asked to debate a statewide planning scheme, without seeing the statewide planning scheme.
The Liberals can talk about mandates all they like, but what we actually need is information, not political spin. They've been wasting the parliament's time with rhetoric and avoiding the details of what this legislation will really mean for Tasmania.
The government's clear agenda is to make Tasmania more accessible to development, no matter the cost to communities.
