The increase in Tasmania's wood exports are thanks to sustainable private sector plantation-based forestry, not politics or state government intervention.

The forest industry has looked to the market and realised their future lies in sustainable forestry, with a social and environmental conscience. Businesses like Forico are a clear example, and are the reason for Tasmania's wood export growth.

It's laughable that the state government thinks they can take credit for the increase.

This is the same government who have been desperately trying to secure Forest Stewardship Council certification, all while they draw up the plans to log the homes of many of our threatened species in Lapoinya.

Acting-Minister Hidding seems to be as blind as his colleague, Minister Harriss, when it  comes to market direction and Tasmania's forest estate.
