There is growing community concern that the Little Forester River near Bridport is being drained by individual farmers.
Minister Rockliff has been made aware of the situation and he needs to act immediately.
The government need to make sure the Little Forester River is being monitored now, and over the ongoing dry summer.
We have seen a similar story come out in the Midlands over the weekend. With our driest October on record and a long, hot summer predicted, this is clearly a serious state-wide issue.
Our water resources need to be there for everyone, and individual farmers draining our rivers is a great concern. Not only is the river ecology under threat, but other users are being left high and dry.
