Cassy O'Connor MP | Greens Leader
Jeremy Rockliff would have Tasmanians believe he’s working to improve their lives.
In reality, he is overseeing a health system in crisis and unchecked Covid infection, the worst educational outcomes in the country, a public transport system on the brink of collapse, and the nation’s least affordable rents.
So who is Premier Rockliff governing for? It’s not battlers, or everyday Tasmanians.
The Premier won’t act to curb soaring rents, and he won’t regulate short stay accommodation - which he and his Treasurer personally profit from.
He’s also ruled out a levy on the thousands of vacant homes which are shutting Tasmanians out of the rental market.
He is not, however, completely idle. Premier Rockliff continues his cosy corporate, $4K a ticket dinners where he trades away Tasmania’s waterways to the mega-corporates.
He’s become Gill’s shill, parroting the AFL CEO’s talking points on the a billion dollar stadium the State can’t afford and doesn’t need.
Jeremy Rockliff is there for the big end of town, at the expense of everyday Tamanians.
It sure does look like he is hoping Tasmanians will send him back to the spud farm at the next election.
