Ms O'CONNOR question to PREMIER, Mr HODGMAN
Tasmanians know former Labor premier Paul Lennon is on the Farrell family payroll in a bid to protect the obscene profits they make off the back of human suffering. The model being put forward by the Federal Group and the Tasmanian Hospitality Association mirrors in many ways your Government's stated position on the expiry of the monopoly deed. Tasmanians now also know that former Gunns CEO and convicted criminal John Gay is set to profit from your Government's plans to log the rainforest species inside conservation areas, regional reserves and other high-conservation-value forests. People who have observed Tasmanian politics for a time would be forgiven for thinking that the more things change, the more they stay the same when it comes to the Labor and Liberal parties.
Have you, any of your ministers or any of your senior staff met with either Mr Lennon or Mr Gay? What role have these two divisive figures played in setting your Government's socially, environmentally and economically destructive policies?
Madam Speaker, I thank the member for the question. I have not met with either individual on either issue and I am not aware of any of my ministers having done so either.
