Ms O'CONNOR - Thank you. Minister, are you aware of any ED5 code of conduct investigations in the Department of State Growth? Do you have any comment on the fact that there are six ED5 investigations underway at Ashley Youth Detention Centre which happened on your watch?
CHAIR - Ms O'Connor, you understand as well as I do, as well as the minister, that that's outside the range of this portfolio and this Estimates hearing and the minister can't answer that.
Ms O'CONNOR - He can answer the first part of it.
CHAIR - He can answer the first part of the question about ED5s in relation to his department now.
Ms O'CONNOR - I was simply making the observation that there were six launched on his watch as minister.
CHAIR - I well understand the point you were making, Ms O'Connor, and you've got it on Hansard but the minister is not going to answer it.
Mr JAENSCH - Thank you, Mr Chair. We're all committed to providing safe workplaces and fair processes for all of our colleagues and all the people that we're responsible for in the public service. In regard to the question specifically on ED5s in the Department of State Growth, I will defer to the secretary to respond.
Mr EVANS - There are two currently underway. One is the subject of a criminal charge which has been publicly talked about, but both are outside of this portfolio.
Ms O'CONNOR - Okay. For clarification, the one that's subject to the criminal charge, is that a matter of public record? Was it in the Estimates or has it been made public in the media?
Mr EVANS - In the media.
Ms O'CONNOR - Okay. Thank you.
Mr EVANS - Both the police and ourselves made a media release in regard to that charge.
