Dr WOODRUFF - Thank you. My question is now about whether TasNetworks plans to build transmission lines to connect to the proposed, and currently very controversial, St Patricks Plains/Epuron Wind Farm Development, which is in the drafting stages, I believe. There are 27 000 anglers in Anglers Alliance Tasmania who are deeply concerned about that farm. They would like to know whether TasNetworks has plans to build transmission lines to connect?

Mr BALCOMBE - I will make a comment and then I might defer to Wayne with regard to this. As a transmission network provider we have an obligation to connect new generation. That is our obligation as the TNSP. Assuming we have to build new transmission, I will defer to Wayne in that regard, we would undertake our usual round of engagement with the community in relation to any construction activities that might occur there. We'd be focused on building what is efficient from a cost perspective and all the other standards that entail constructing that line.

I will defer to Wayne regarding the discussions we're having about that development.

Mr WAYNE TUCKER - Thanks, Lance. The integrated system being prepared by the Australian Energy Market Operator identified the central area as a renewable energy zone. We are just starting at this point consultation and communication with the council and other stakeholders in the area with regard what the transmission plan might be for the future, depending on what generation may or not occur there.
