Dr WOODRUFF - Minister, what date did the Tasmanian Rental Property Owners Association first approach the Government seeking funding?
Ms ARCHER - I'm trying to think how to say this so that it is easier to shorten the Tasmanian Rental Property Owners Association. TROPO? It doesn't sound right, though, does it? I understand that the association, we will call it, wrote to the Premier on 13 May 2021. Then it was in June that he wrote back advising that the association would receive funding in the Budget, in line with its request, which was noted would be provided to assist with the set up costs connected with establishing the association, and also enabling the association to provide additional assistance to Tasmania's rental owners, regarding educational and compliance with relevant legislation.
Dr WOODRUFF - You said it was in June.
Ms ARCHER - It was in June he wrote back. My department has prepared a grant deed in accordance with this allocation which has been provided to the association. I understand the association is currently considering the grant deed.
Dr WOODRUFF - What date did the Government make the decision to provide funding?
Ms ARCHER - As I have said, they made their request on 13 May and the Premier wrote back in June advising that the association would receive funding.
Dr WOODRUFF - That is not the date it was made. When was it made? That was when they were advised.
Ms ARCHER - That is the information I have at hand. The letter was to the Premier and the Premier wrote back, so that was the Premier's decision. I don't have a specific date. No, sorry, I don't have a specific date about a decision but not much time transpired between the 13 May to June, but it is all part of the Budget.
