Premier’s Climate Inaction Increases State’s Bushfire Threat

The Premier’s casual climate change inaction is putting Tasmanians at risk. In Parliament today he refused to stand against his coal-loving party, and reassure Tasmanians he would provide substantial resourcing for climate change adaptation, bushfire preparation and response capability in the upcoming State Budget.

Last Friday, about 8,000 passionate young Tasmanians left school to demand politicians take leadership and accept we are living in a climate change crisis. They will be bitterly disappointed at Premier Will Hodgman’s agenda for the next three years of government, where the climate emergency doesn’t rate a mention.
